Hi! My name is Heather Taylor, aka Heather T., and I live in the middle of the Oregon Coast in a tiny town named Yachats [‘yah-hots]. Don’t believe Siri; she pronounces it [yah-chits]. My husband and my son and I moved here 18 years ago, and it’s the longest I’ve ever lived in a single place.

I grew up in French-speaking Switzerland of American parents, and came over to the US in my late teens to study English. One thing led to another, I got a Ph.D. in Romance Languages, taught a bunch, met a guy, had a baby, and voilà. 

I love nature as long as it’s not hot. Hot = 70F (21C). The misty, cool Oregon coast and I are well suited for each other. =) We are surrounded by ocean and mountains, and temperate rainforest, and bears and cougars and very lovely people. Also, thank goodness for high speed internet and interlibrary loans.
